UFC Results 30: Jim Miller Records Victory After Defeating Damon Jackson

JAKARTA - Lightweight fighter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Jim Miller expanded his record for the most fights and most wins at the UFC after overthrowing Damon Jackson in UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, New York, As, on Saturday (16/11).

"Let's see if I can reach 50 (fights at the UFC). I'm always looking for a finish and I'm happy to be able to give you good results," said Jim Miller after the fight as quoted from the official MMA Fighting website in Jakarta, Sunday.

Miller now holds the record for the most fights, namely 45 fights and the most wins, 27 wins in UFC history and he is still strong.

At the start of the fight against Jackson, Miller looked ready to outperform opponents as they exchanged punches. Jackson tried to close the gap and use his grappling, but the strategy of the former featherweight boxer who turned into a lightweight justeru backfired.

When Jackson lowered his head, Miller saw a gap for the guillotine choke, which was one of his best finish maneuvers. After Miller's lock was locked, Jackson was forced to do a lap or fall asleep after making a submission.

This lightweight veteran let go of the taulillotine choke and then defended to secure the lockdown. Jackson was caught and it only took him a while to table out to give up in the first round which had only been running for two minutes 44 seconds.

After the fight ended, Jackson took off his gloves and left Miller in the octagon to announce his retirement from the sport, although he refused the interview afterwards. The defeat was the first in his last five fights.

Meanwhile, for Miller, the 41-year-old continued to challenge obstacles while setting a record for 6-2 in his last eight fights.

"It feels amazing. I found theguillotine, it's almost 20 years ago. I have a slightly different approach to my grip," he said.

Miller, who doesn't seem to have slowed down, said he still wants to stay and get many more fights to raise records at the UFC.
