UEFA Nations League: Turkey Draws Wales, Sweden Beats Slovakia

JAKARTA - The Turkish national team was held to a draw by Wales, while Sweden secured a victory over Slovakia in the fifth match of the UEFA Nations League on Sunday morning WIB.

Turkey was recorded only able to draw goalless when they hosted Wales in the fifth match of Liga B Group 4 at Kadir Has Stadium, Kayseri, according to UEFA records.

In this match, Turkey could actually dominate the game by recording 63 percent possession and releasing 25 kicks, three of which were on target, but Wales demonstrated a disciplined game.

Despite only securing a draw, Turkey remains in first place in Group 4 League B with 11 points from five matches, two points from Wales in second place.

Turkey next only needs to secure a draw to ensure automatic promotion to Liga A when traveling to Montenegro headquarters, Wednesday (20/11), while hoping Wales won no more than two goals against Iceland, on the same day.

Meanwhile, Sweden continued their positive trend in the UEFA Nations League while sealing promotions to League B after beating Slovakia 2-1 at the Friends Arena Stadium, Stockholm.

Now Sweden ranks first in Group 1 Liga C with a total score of 13 points from five matches, three points ahead of Slovakia in second place.

Although points from Sweden can still be equalized by Slovakia, Viktor Gyokeres and his colleagues were ahead on goal difference when the two teams met as they were recorded to have won 2-1 in Stockholm and drew 2-2 in Bratislava.

In the match, Sweden secured victory thanks to Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, while Slovakia had equalized through David Hancko.

Statistically, Sweden is better than Slovakia by recording 61 percent possession and releasing 16 kicks, eight of which are on target.
