Flights At Sisingamangaraja Airport Rise During The Aquabike Jetski World Championship Championship Championship

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) recorded an increase in the movement of aircraft passengers at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport in line with the implementation of the Aquabike Jetski World Championship in the Lake Toba area on November 13-17, 2024.

President Director of InJourney Airports Faik Fahmi said operations and services at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport were running well amid increased flight traffic.

Airplane passengers on the D-5 to the D day of this year's Aquabike event are more than the same period last year, this indicates that tourists are looking forward to this event.

On D-5 to D, the implementation (8 - 13 November 2024) the movement at the airport reached 7,968 passengers. Meanwhile, the number of aircraft flights reached 59 flights.

"InJourney Airports has prepared an operation and service plan to welcome the Aquabike delegation and tourists, and we are grateful that the handling at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport went well from before the event was held until the first day of the event," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 16.

He said Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport serves the Jakarta-Silangit-Jakarta flight route operated by AirAsia Indonesia, Super Air Jet and Citilink, as well as the Batam-Silangit route by Citilink and Super Air Jet.

At the passenger terminal, a typical Batak ornament was prepared to introduce the richness of Indonesian arts and culture to delegates and tourists who were present to witness this jetski world championship.

Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport has complete facilities to support flight operations for the success of various international events, including runways with dimensions of 2,650 x 45 meters and aprons to accommodate parking up to 6 medium-bodied aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
