Bali KPU: 18 TPS In Bali Unreachable To The Internet, Potential For Sirekap Disturbance

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bali received information that it was found that there were still blank spots or areas that had not been reached by the internet network and had the potential to disrupt the recapitulation information system (SiRekap).

This was revealed when the organizers held a coordination meeting with relevant agencies in Denpasar City, and found that in Denpasar City and Badung Regency there were blank spots.

"Yesterday in Denpasar and Badung there were 18 polling stations, it turned out that I only found out if there was a barrier, but today it has been checked, hopefully the blank spot can be resolved," said Bali KPU Commissioner Anak Agung Gede Raka Nakula in Denpasar, Saturday,.

Agung Raka said that the TPS with a difficult internet network area had also been found during the 2024 election in February, and was finally anticipated by shifting the location.

"However, because it is still found in urban areas, the Bali KPU wants to be resolved immediately. Now we need to do another assessment, hopefully today it will be finished, this is actually Bangli (a rural area) safe from blank spots," he said.

Asked about the readiness of the Sirekap application itself, Agung Nakula said that the system is now better because it learns from the experience of the 2024 General Election.

Not to mention, he said, in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada, KPPS members in Bali Province received more knowledge about how to use applications.

"Now Sirekap is intensively conducting technical guidance. In the last presidential election, the disturbance in the application, now the application has been repaired from afar, we hope it will be better," he said.

The Bali KPU hopes that on voting day there will be no problems, either on the internet network or the Sirekap application, so that the application can work well and make it easier for the public to access fast count data according to the form taken by the KPPS into the system.

"We believe that Sirekap only includes what has been executed at the TPS, in fact with the Sirekap game not there, cannot change the data because everything has been photographed, the changes are usually due to errors in reading the writing mechanism," he said.
