LAMPUNG SELATAN - In a series of activities for the 2024 Palestinian Solidarity Month (BSP), thousands of people in Lampung, raised the flags of Indonesia and Palestine in the waters of the Sunda Strait, Bakauheni District, South Lampung Regency.

Based on observations at the location, it was seen that thousands of residents who were members of the Palestine Institute, Aqsa Working Group (AWG) of the Lampung Bureau arrived at Bakauheni Port and began sailing to Merak, Banten.

The chairman of the AWG Lampung Bureau, Yusron Darojat in Bakauheni, Saturday, said the activity aims to continue to invite everyone who cares about humanity to provide support and solidarity with Palestine.

"This action participant involved approximately 1,000 people who joined the sail and then raised the flag in the Sunda Strait," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, November 16.

According to him, this activity involved approximately 1,000 participants with motorbikes and cars from various regions such as Jambi, South Sumatra, East Lampung, Central Lampung, North Lampung, South Lampung, Bandar Lampung and Pringsewu.

He explained that the activity was held with the intention of increasing awareness and solidarity with Palestine.

Therefore, he also hopes that this solidarity action activity can be an inspiration for the wider community to care more, not only for Palestine, but also for all humanitarian issues in the world.

"We want to strengthen our sense of humanity, unity, and support for them. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to all parties about the importance of maintaining peace and justice around the world, as well as having a positive impact, both in terms of morals and real action, in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people," he said.

In addition, with this activity, his party wants to convey a message to the world that the Indonesian people do not remain silent over the suffering experienced by the Palestinian people.

"We want to strengthen our sense of humanity, unity, and support for them. By involving the Ferry ship for raising in the Sunda Strait, hopefully it can create a world with publications and documentation through the mass media, because with this open era, anything that is done will have an impact on the global world, especially with massive movements," he said.

According to him, at least the flags of Indonesia and Palestine with a width of six meters were flown on the Ferry Ship along with hundreds of other flags by convoy participants while crossing the Sunda Strait.
