Visit Sritex Solo, Wamenaker Make Sure There Are No Layoffs

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan during his visit to PT Sritex Solo confirmed that there were no layoffs on Sritex employees.

"I emphasize, we will always be on the front lines to fight for the fate of Sritex workers," Noel said in a statement to the media, Saturday, November 16.

Noel said the many issues and opinions that developed regarding the layoffs and the layoffs of 2,500 Sritex workers. He said that Sritex workers were not laid off but were laid off because the company was not producing due to a lack of raw materials.

Meanwhile, Wamenaker continued layoffs are the termination of the work relationship between workers and companies.

"Don't get the wrong definition about it, so that people understand which layoffs are laid off, and which ones are laid off," said Noel.

Noel said, if later the decision is still layoffs for Sritex workers, his party ensures that the entire layoff process can run according to labor regulations, and ensures that workers' rights remain protected.
