Kumamoto Japan Masters 2024: 4 Indonesian Representatives In The Semifinals

JAKARTA Four Indonesian representatives managed to reach the semifinals of the Kumamoto Japan Masters 2024. Two of them will also face each other.

The semifinals of the BWF Super 500 level event will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The series of matches starts at 10.00 Japanese time or 08.00 WIB.

Men's singles Jonatan Christie and women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will appear in Field 1. In a row the two played in the fifth and sixth matches.

Jonathan, who is the fourth seed, will come down to meet Malaysia's singles, Leong Jun Hao. The two shared one win in the previous two clashes.

Meanwhile, Gregoria will face South Korean singles, Sim Yu-jin. On paper, Gregoria has a 4-1 win-loss record over Sim.

Gregoria is the defending champion in this tournament. The 2017 junior world champion won the first edition last year after defeating China's singles final, Chen Yufei.

Two other Indonesian representatives in the semifinals were the men's doubles duo Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.

This pair faced each other in the second match of Field 2. The clash automatically made Indonesia definitely have one final ticket.
