Together With Jan Ethes, Vice President Gibran Watches The Indonesian Against Japan National Team At GBK
JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, to watch the match between the Indonesian football national team and Japan in the Group C match round three of the Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The vice president, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and brown trousers, arrived at 19.11 WIB through the VVIP door in the west lobby of SUGBK with his son Jan Ethes.
Gibran was seen riding a white Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid.
A number of officials were seen attending, among others, the Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) who is also Chairman of PSSI Erick Thohir, and Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan.
Previously, the Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae-yong asked his players to display a game that would not be regretted when they hosted Japan in the third round of Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Friday (15/11).
With the difference in FIFA rankings such as the sky and earth between Japan and Indonesia, Coach Shin asked that it not be an additional burden for the Garuda squad.
"It will definitely be a very difficult match for us, me and the players, but want to make this match an unrealized match. If we do that, no one knows the result of the match, that's my game plan," said Coach Shin at a press conference at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday (14/11) night.
The spirit of the Indonesian national team to hunt for maximum results was so high in the match against Japan. If they were able to achieve a draw, let alone a win, the Garuda team's chance to qualify for the fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers was still open.
