Investigation Of Allegations Of Bribery In South Kalimantan Ensured That The KPK Was Not Disturbed After Uncle Birin Resigned
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin's resignation as governor did not affect the investigation into alleged bribery in the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Kalimantan. Investigators continue to investigate the receipts he made while still in office.
"It doesn't mean that if you resign, your actions are missing. Because this has happened," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, November 15.
In addition, the KPK considers that the death of Uncle Birin's suspect status after winning the pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) is a formal matter. The act of receiving money or material aspects in this case, continued Tessa, has been pocketed by investigators.
Therefore, in the future Uncle Birin will soon be summoned as a witness on the basis of an investigation warrant (sprindik) on behalf of other suspects.
"And I think investigators are quite observant and professional to ensure that the handling of the case can be comprehensive, not only givers, but recipients are also handled as well," he said.
"What are the steps, of course, we can't clearly tell you again here," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.
As previously reported, the South Jakarta District Court (PN) received a pretrial lawsuit from the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin on Tuesday, November 12. His status as a suspect in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was declared dead.
