KPK Immediately Call Uncle Birin Regarding Allegations Of Bribery At The South Kalimantan Provincial Government

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to immediately summon the former Governor of South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin. He will be questioned regarding the alleged bribery in the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Kalimantan which began with a hand arrest operation (OTT).

"We'll just have to wait, God willing, it won't take a long time (KPK will call, ed)," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, November 15.

Tessa explained that investigators could still examine Uncle Birin as a witness even though the KPK lost pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). This is based on the investigation warrant (sprindik) of other suspects in this case.

Moreover, Uncle Birin's victory in the lawsuit was actually only testing the formal aspect. "The material aspect is that his actions still exist that several suspects have been detained and processed," he said.

"Of course the KPK will take actions, one of which is the summons concerned as a witness in the case or sprindik which is currently underway," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

As previously reported, the South Jakarta District Court (PN) received a pretrial lawsuit from the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin on Tuesday, November 12. His status as a suspect in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was declared dead.

Uncle Birin was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with four other people. They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Ahmad Solhan (SOL), the Head of Cipta Karya as well as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Yulianti Erlynah (YUL), the Management of the Tahfidz Darussalam House as well as the collectors of money or fees Ahmad (AMD) and Plt. Head of the Household of the Governor of South Kalimantan Agustya Febry Andrean (FEB).

Meanwhile, as the suspect givers, namely Sugeng Wahyudi (YUD) and Andi Susanto (AND) as private parties. A total of seven suspects were named by the KPK which began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Sunday, October 6.

This gift was made after Sugeng and Andi got three projects in South Kalimantan. The details:

1. Development of Football Fields in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider PT WKM (Wismani Kharya Mandiri) with a work value of Rp23 billion; 2. Integrated Samsat Development with selected provider PT HIU (Haryadi Indo Utama) with a work value of Rp22 billion;3. Development of Swimming Pools in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider CV BBB (Bunt Banua Bersama) with a work value of Rp9 billion.
