Bogor City DPRD Chairman Determined To Make Legislative Closer To The Community

BOGOR The newly appointed chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), conveyed his vision to bring about changes in the legislative role in the city. He is determined to make the legislature closer to the community.

This was said in a relaxed interview on the Political Content YouTube channel quoted on Friday, November 15, the man who is familiarly called Kang Adit emphasized the importance of community involvement in every legislative and policy process.

"I aspire to bring the DPRD closer to the community, both in the preparation of regional regulations, proposals for programs, to get a fee back from the programs that have been implemented," said Kang Adit.

Inaugurated on September 20, 2024, Kang Adit is currently adjusting to a big responsibility as chairman of the DPRD, a role that according to him has a much different rhythm and workload compared to when he became a regular legislative member.

Continuing And Innovating

Adityawarman who replaced Atang Trisnanto, Chairman of the DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, after obtaining 8,708 votes in the electoral district 1 (Central Bogor and East Bogor sub-districts). He appreciated his predecessor's performance and is committed to continuing his positive achievements with a more relevant and adaptive approach to the current needs of the community.

"Continuing that is already good, but also adapting to the needs of the community today. Bogor City with a population of more than one million has many social challenges, so a responsive approach is very necessary," he added.

Responsibility Balance And Family

In the interview, Kang Adit also discussed how his role in influencing personal life. He admitted that time with family is more limited, but still tries to maintain a balance between public and personal responsibilities.

So far I am still in the adaptation stage, but God willing, it can be lived. For me, family is an important part that must also get attention in the midst of busy life," he said.

As a PKS cadre, Kang Adit emphasized that the process of appointing the chairman of the DPRD in his party was not a competition event, but part of the mandate that must be carried out. He said that the cadres actually avoided each other from the position because of the heavy responsibility that had to be carried out.

"The term is not fighting for each other, it might just stay away from each other (so as not to become chairman). But this is a mandate that must be carried out with responsibility," he explained.

Optimism For The Future

Kang Adityawarman ended the interview with the hope that the Bogor City DPRD would be better in carrying out its legislative, budgeting, and supervision functions. He also invited all parties to face the challenges ahead with optimism.

"Hopefully we can all face the future with optimism and happiness, even though the challenges ahead of our eyes are still not clear," he concluded.

With his vision and dedication, Kang Adit hopes to bring positive changes to the people of Bogor City during his leadership.
