Playing A Role As A Producer, Ario Bayu Wants To Maximize Art Through Samsara

Garin Nugroho presents the Cine-concert of his latest film, Samsara, which is a collaboration with Bakti Budaya Djarum. This silent film is one of the new films featuring silent films with cultural backgrounds connected to Indonesian history.

Garin revealed the reason for choosing Ario Bayu as the main character. In addition to playing a role, the chairman of the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) is also the producer for this film. This wish was also welcomed by Ario Bayu.

"Maybe as producer executives, we actually only help from the financial aspect, once possible the framework is all taken care of by this extraordinary mother," said Ario Bayu.

"The opportunity to have a limited exposition so I have to give a story through my body and expression which is finally unique and a challenge which finally collaborates with Juliet (Widyasari Burnett) to be special. That's what Emphasize is Garin's vision to provide textures for Indonesian cinema and international scale," he said.

Samsara's Cine-concert has been held in Bali and Singapore which received a speech from the audience. This time, Samsara's Cine-concert will continue its journey to Jakarta and Jogjakarta.

"You have to be able to have the ability to deconstruct what consumes humans into elements where we want to break the paradigm where we want to continue breaking everything here," explained Ario Bayu.

"That's very resonant with my inner mind as an artist so that's what we can see, that's what I can say," he said again.

The Cine-Concert Samsara show will be held in Yogyakarta on December 5, 2024 at the Innovation and Creativity Center and Jakarta on December 13-15, 2024 at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki.
