British Jets Track Russian Plane Flying Near Its Airspace
JAKARTA - British jets are tracking Russian aircraft flying near the country's airspace, the British Royal Air Force said.
This incident comes days after the Royal Navy also detected a Russian military ship passing through the British Strait.
"Our enemy must not doubt our firm determination and our extraordinary ability to protect Britain," said Luke Pollard, British armed forces minister.
The British Royal Navy and RAF routinely track the movement of Russian warships and jets near the waters and airspace.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) said this was the second time in three months RAF and the Royal Navy had seen Russian planes and ships within a week.
Two RAF Typhoons on Thursday monitored the Russian Bear-F bomber flying over the North Sea, MOD said.
The British Royal Navy overshadowed two separate groups of Russian military ships, five ships heading for the Atlantic and Baltic, he said.
