Kevin Diks Takjub With Support From Indonesian National Team Supporters
JAKARTA - The new naturalized player for the Indonesian national team, Kevin Diks, admitted that he was amazed to see the enthusiasm of Garuda's supporters.
Diks only arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, afternoon WIB and was immediately greeted by supporters as soon as he landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
The lively welcome continued when a few hours later Diks attended the Indonesian national team training at the Madya Stadium on the same day.
"I feel grateful to see the enthusiasm of the people here, as well as the support at the airport and social media for me and the team."
"I want to thank you for all this support," said Kevin Diks.

The player whose full name is Kevin Diks Bakarbessy said he couldn't wait to wear the Indonesian national team uniform when he hosted Japan, in the Group C match for the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, Friday, November 15, 2024, at 19.00 WIB.
"I can't wait to meet all of you. I want to see your support and I'm very excited," said the Ambon-blooded player.
The match against Japan will be the debut for Diks, who just finished the entire naturalization process last weekend at the Indonesian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team needed points against Japan in order to improve their position in Group C.
Currently, the Garuda Squad is in fifth place in the standings with three points from three draws and one loss.
Then, the opponent of the Blue Samurai topped the Group C standings with 10 points from three wins and one draw.
