Superstar Fitness Victim Asks Judges To Reject Bankrupt Applications

JAKARTA - A number of victims from the Superstar Fitness fitness center consisting of members (members), employees to coaches asked the judge not to grant the bankruptcy application submitted by PT Cipta Usaha Amerta Nusantara, the holding company of the fitness center.

The company has submitted a bankruptcy statement to the Central Jakarta Commercial Court with case number 45/Pdt.Sus.Pailit/2024/PN Niaga Jkt.Pst on October 31 and its inaugural trial was held last Thursday (14/11).

"We ask the Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta District Court not to grant a bankruptcy request from PT Cipta Usaha Amerta Nusantara," said Fera, a victim who is a member of a confirmed club in Jakarta, Friday.

Fera together with representatives of victims and employees also requested that there be considerations by the panel of judges against victims who have lost their rights to the company's disrupted operations.

"We also ask the panel of judges to consider us as victims consisting of members, employees and also fitness coaches who do not get their rights properly," he said.

Fera revealed that she suffered losses of up to Rp. 3 million after paying for club membership.

However, instead of getting his rights, Fera, who is a member of the Cibubur branch of the fitness club, actually had to bite her finger because the fitness club closed suddenly on the grounds of bankruptcy.

Another victim, Gabriel admitted to being a victim with a loss of Rp. 7 million. Gabriel has joined the fitness center for the next three years along with his wife who had already joined.

"I'm a member for the next 3 years, the loss is around Rp. 7 million to join my wife, who has been around since last year, but if I'm only 3 months old," said Gabriel, who joined the West Tanjung branch.

Another member, Hari, who joined his wife and brother-in-law for life time, even had to be willing to lose up to Rp110 million. He paid for membership with the largest "personal trainer" session, reaching Rp24 million for 200 sessions.

"I joined the Sentul branch, for'member lifetime' (diamond) three people reached Rp110 million, the list since the gym had not yet opened (pre-sale) in June 2023 and only opened in October 2023," said Hari.

In addition to thousands of members, the closure of all fitness centers in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) gradually also harms employees including personal trainers.

A coach from one of the branches, Welly, even admitted that he did not get a salary for three months.

"I'm in the 'personal trainer' section, I haven't received a salary for three months with a total loss of Rp. 23 million. I just received a nominal value of Rp. 1 million, that was one month ago, and not just me like this," he said.

The inaugural trial of filing for bankruptcy took place briefly with only the process of submitting files to the panel of judges. The trial will resume on Thursday (21/11).
