Ministry Of PKP: Other Sources Of Funds Need To Be Capai Target 3 Million Houses

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) said that other housing sources needed to be used to achieve the target program of 3 million houses made by Prabowo Subianto.

Deputy Minister of PKP Fahri Hamzah said, with the other sources of funds, people who get subsidized houses with good quality could do more.

"We will immediately coordinate with the Ministry of Finance regarding the existing system and the plan to improve the financing pattern we plan for the 3 Million House Program," Fahri said in a written statement, quoted Friday, November 15.

Fahri said, the Ministry of PKP together with a number of parties continue to formulate how the right housing financing pattern is and complete the shortage in terms of distribution of housing financing as has been implemented so far.

In this case, he said, his party wants people who work in the informal sector and do not have salary slips to be accommodated and get housing financing according to existing regulations.

"The Ministry of PKP wants the pattern of housing financing not to be borne by the government through the state budget alone. However, there must also be other sources of housing funds that can be used," he said.

He did not deny that so far many housing financing funds have been channeled to the public, ranging from the FLPP mortgage, down payment assistance schemes to interest difference subsidies.

However, Fahri considered that the funds had not been fully managed properly. Thus, the number of people who already have houses is still relatively small.

"For this reason, the Ministry of PKP will also continue to sharpen the preparation of housing financing schemes and strategies so that people who work in the informal sector can have access to housing financing well," he added.

For information, the Ministry of PKP was formed by President Prabowo Subianto as an effort by the government to provide decent and affordable housing for the community.

The development targets to be achieved are as many as 3 million houses every year spread across rural areas as many as 2 million units and in urban areas as many as 1 million units.
