Meet With The Attorney General, The Minister Of Transmigration To Discuss Corruption Legal Assistance To Budget Leaks

JAKARTA - Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara met with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin with the intention of asking for legal assistance regarding the work program he will run.

The meeting of the two state officials took place at the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

"The purpose of our visit to the Attorney General's office is that we want legal assistance during our work," Iftitah told reporters, Friday, November 15.

According to him, legal assistance needs to be carried out so that all employees of the Ministry of Transmigration work in accordance with applicable legal norms.

In particular, preventing irregularities or criminal acts of corruption while carrying out programs at the Ministry of Transmigration.

"The most important thing is the absence of corruption. Then prevent budget leaks and what is done is in accordance with applicable legal procedures," he said.

Moreover, the Ministry of Transmigration is said to only get a 'pas-pasan' budget. Therefore, all programs that have been launched and will be implemented must be right on target.

Iftitah said, under his leadership, the Ministry of Transmigration only got 6 percent of the Ministry of Villages and Development budget for Disadvantaged Regions in the 2024 period, with a total value of around Rp. 194.1 billion.

Meanwhile, for 2025, it is only held around Rp. 98 billion to Rp. 122 billion.

"But it is neither an obstacle nor an obstacle for us to work," said Iftitah.

Meanwhile, Burhannudin said that his party would help the Ministry of Transmigration. Thus, all the targets set by President Prabowo Subianto in Asta Cita can be met.

"Of course, in the context of synergy with the ministry and the possibility of our supports in the implementation of work and not only that, there will be assistance so that in the implementation of work that is carried out is far from the law," said Burhannudin.
