Menkes Pantau Kondisi BPJS Kesehatan Terkait Isu Kenaikan Iuran
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that he continued to communicate with the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to monitor and handle the condition of BPJS Kesehatan, as well as make adjustments, regarding the issue of increasing BPJS contributions.
"Because actually we have been doing the simulation since 2022, when we raise the rate to the hospital. That number already exists. And we review the progress every year. So we know the condition is up to where do BPJS think it will last," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 15.
He said various interventions were carried out to ensure that BPJS Kesehatan's condition was fine, one of which was by paying close attention to whether the payments made were appropriate, because there were many hospitals who made excessive claims or falsified the costs.
"Now we just have to see if our planning figures and realization are close or not. And if it turns out that there is a long difference, what will it look like," he said.
When asked about how to close the deficit of Rp. 20 trillion, the Minister of Health explained that it was necessary to be careful in using the term 'deficit', because BPJS Kesehatan still has tens of trillions of money as well.
"So the deficit may be a current deficit from incoming contributions and also exposures that come out. But BPJS itself still has cash reserves, I think it is above 50 trillion," he said.
Budi said that his party would summon the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti for further treatment.
Previously, BPJS Kesehatan President Director Ali Ghufron Mukti said on Wednesday (13/11) that BPJS Kesehatan's net assets were still healthy, and ensured that his party was smooth in paying for hospitals in 2025.
Regarding the increase in contributions, this is called Ali Ghufron, which is one of the many ways to be a solution, as stated in Presidential Regulation number 59 of 2024 concerning the Third Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance.
Another solution, he said, is cost sharing, which is implemented in several countries, where people who come to the hospital pay a little, with an unincriminate amount.
As for the increase in contributions, he said, in Presidential Decree 59 of 2024 it was stated that as of 2 years, the increase in contributions was allowed, but it needed to be evaluated first. Maximum June 30 or July 1, 2025, the dues will be determined.
"It can go up, it can still be done, this is a scenario," he said.
