JAKARTA - A young man with the initials R became the target of angry residents when he was caught stealing from a shop on Jaya Gas Street, Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Friday, November 15.

At the time of the incident, the shop owner was sleeping, then woke up and caught the perpetrator in action in the shop. A commotion between the perpetrator and the victim occurred, which attracted the attention of residents.

Luckily, the perpetrator was arrested. A number of angry residents beat the perpetrator until he was black and blue.

The Duren Sawit Police Buser members quickly arrived at the scene to secure the perpetrator from the angry mob. So that the vigilante action could be immediately suppressed.

Based on the statement of Ari, the shop owner, he woke up when he heard the sound of someone opening the shop's rolling door.

"The perpetrator's hand was already in, the perpetrator was immediately secured," he told reporters.

However, when the shop owner secured him, the perpetrator actually fought back. The perpetrator was drunk at the time of the incident.

Because the perpetrator fought back, the shop owner screamed. Finally, residents who heard the victim's screams immediately came out of the house. The residents then arrested the perpetrator.

"The perpetrator was not alone, it is suspected that two of his friends managed to escape," he said.
