Charged With Layered Articles, Reasons For Police Determining Suspect And Detaining Ivan Sugianto

Surabaya Police have named a suspect and detained businessman Ivan Sugianto, the perpetrator of bullying and persecution by forcing SMAK Gloria 2's children to prostrate and scold like dogs. The suspect was also charged with multiple articles

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Pol. Dirmanto, at the Surabaya Police, Thursday night said that based on the results of the examination of the suspect, investigators decided to detain the entertainment entrepreneur that night.

"From the development of the investigation of suspect I, after investigators conducted an examination for approximately three hours starting from sunset until now, it has just been completed that investigators feel that there is enough examination and immediate detention is carried out," he said.

Prior to the detention, the suspect Ivan was subjected to a medical examination by the appointed doctor. By the doctor, the suspect was declared healthy and was immediately taken to the Surabaya Police detention house.

"Before being detained, an examination of the suspect and the doctor stated that the suspect was healthy. So we immediately took him to the state detention room of the Surabaya Police," he said.

He said the suspect was charged with multiple articles, namely Article 80 paragraph 1 of the Child Protection Law and Article 335 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code.

"The article that is suspected here is Article 80 paragraph 1 of the Child Protection Law and or Article 335 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code, the penalty is three years in prison," said Dirmanto.

It is known that Ivan was named a suspect by the police after the video forced SMAK Gloria 2 Surabaya to prostrate andlate like a dog went viral on social media.

He himself had expressed his apology for causing a commotion through a video. His apology was also addressed to the victims, schools, families and the Indonesian people in general.
