Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe Pair Leads in Latest Bekasi Mayoral Election Survey
JAKARTA - Indonesia Development Monitoring (IDM) released the results of a survey regarding the support of the Bekasi City community for three pairs of mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates who will compete in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
The results showed that 48.7 percent of respondents chose the Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe pair in an open question. Meanwhile, 32.4 percent chose the Heri Koswara-Sholihin pair. Meanwhile, 1.3 percent chose the Uu Saeful Mikdar-Nurul Sumarheni pair, and 17.6 percent of respondents did not give a choice or chose names other than the three candidate pairs.
"To test a more targeted level of electability, respondents were given closed questions through questionnaires and ballots if the Bekasi City Pilkada were held today, the results showed that pair number 03, Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe was chosen by 55.7 percent of respondents," said IDM Survey Coordinator, Heru Supriyatno in his statement, Thursday, November 14.
"Pair number 01, Heri Koswara-Sholihin was chosen by 36.1 percent, while pair number 02, Uu Saeful Mikdar-Nurul Sumarheni, was chosen by 1.6 percent. As many as 6.6 percent of respondents chose not to vote," he continued.
This survey, Heru continued, also measured the level of steadfastness of respondents' choices. The results, 89.7 percent of voters for the Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe pair stated that they were firm with their choice until the voting day, while 10.3 percent were still thinking again.
"Of the voters for the Heri Koswara-Sholihin pair, as many as 73.7 percent were firm with their choice, while 16.3 percent were still thinking again. Meanwhile, 60.7 percent of voters for the Uu Saeful Mikdar-Nurul Sumarheni pair were firm with their choice, while 39.3 percent were still considering their choice," he said.
Heru said, when asked about their knowledge of the Pilkada, 57.8 percent of respondents stated that they were aware of the three candidate pairs that would compete in the 2024 Bekasi City Pilkada. In addition, 88.1 percent of respondents stated that they would vote at the Polling Stations (TPS).
Regarding campaign advertisements, Heru said, 77.4 percent of respondents admitted to seeing advertisements for the Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe pair more often. Meanwhile, 50.7 percent saw advertisements for the Heri Koswara-Sholihin pair, and 5.7 percent saw advertisements for the Uu Saeful Mikdar-Nurul Sumarheni pair.
"Most respondents, 53.9 percent, admitted to having seen advertisements on the streets from the three candidate pairs, while 46.1 percent did not care and did not pay attention to the advertisements," said Heru.
Heru said, 49.8 percent of respondents learned the names of the three candidate pairs from social media. Meanwhile, 50.2 percent admitted to not knowing at all through social media.
"When asked about their impressions of the campaign advertisements, 70.7 percent of respondents knew Tri Adhianto well and positively, and often heard his name as the Mayor of Bekasi.
Meanwhile, 13.3 percent of respondents knew Heri Koswara as a member of the Bekasi City DPRD, 1.1 percent knew Uu Saeful Mikdar as the Head of the Education Office, and 14.9 percent of respondents did not know the three pairs," explained Heru.
Then in terms of assessing the ability of the candidate pairs to solve problems and meet the needs of the Bekasi City community, Heru added, 68.3 percent of respondents chose the Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe pair.
The Heri Koswara-Sholihin pair only received an assessment from 24.6 percent of respondents, while the Uu Saeful Mikdar-Nurul Sumarheni pair only received an assessment from 4.1 percent of respondents.
According to Heru, the high electability of the Tri Adhianto-Harris Bobihoe pair is positively correlated with the level of satisfaction of the Bekasi City community with Tri Adhianto's performance during his tenure as Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Bekasi in the last five years.
"When asked about their satisfaction with the Bekasi City government services, 80.4 percent of respondents stated that they were satisfied, 13.4 percent were dissatisfied, and 6.2 percent did not provide an answer," he concluded.
The survey was conducted in the period 2-11 November 2024 through face-to-face interviews using a specially designed survey application.
A total of 1,800 respondents were selected randomly using a multistage random sampling method, providing a margin of error (MoE) of around ±2.31 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
