The Rise Of Smuggling, The Minister Of Transportation Will Tighten Supervision At Airports And Ports
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi revealed that his party will tighten supervision at the Indonesian gate. The doors in question are airports and ports.
Furthermore, Dudy said that this step to tighten supervision was taken to prevent the smuggling of goods from abroad to Indonesia.
"The more it increases the supervision of goods entering and leaving at the ports, airports, and those related to the Ministry of Transportation," he said when met at the Head Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Thursday, November 14.
Dudy also said that the Ministry of Transportation would proactively cooperate with the Ministry of Finance regarding supervision at the entrances to Indonesia.
"We will always be the same as the Ministry of Finance, especially the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC)," he said.
Previously, it was reported that Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati revealed that there were a total of 31,275 actions that had been taken with a value of goods reaching Rp6.1 trillion and a potential state loss of Rp3.9 trillion.

"Since the beginning of 2024, smuggling has been carried out in the field of customs and excise as much as 31,275 times. So we imagine that every month we have done more than 5,000. The value of the goods is Rp. 6.1 trillion and the potential loss to the state can reach Rp. 3.9 trillion," he said at a press conference at the Customs Office, Thursday, November 14.
Sri Mulyani explained that there were 12,490 prosecutions in the import sector with a value of IDR 4.6 trillion and the dominant commodities were prosecuted in the form of textiles and textile products (TPT).
Meanwhile, in the export sector, there were 382 prosecutions with a value of IDR 255 billion and the dominant commodity was dealt with in the form of flora and fauna.
