Ranieri: AS Roma Is In Trouble, That's The Reason To Call Me
JAKARTA - Claudio Ranieri confirmed that he had accepted a job as AS Roma Manager.
The 73-year-old coach flew to London on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, evening local time to meet the owner of AS Roma, the Friedkin family.
During the meeting, Ranieri agreed to accept the role and agreed to personal requirements.
He immediately flew back to Rome a day later. However, while at the airport on his way on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, local time, he was intercepted by reporters to confirm his appointment as AS Roma Manager.
"It's a tough problem being faced. That's why they called me," Ranieri said, smiling at the ANSA news agency.
He then added calls for Giallorossi supporters.
"Ready! Troops come!" Ranieri said again.

Ranieri's contract as AS Roma Manager only applies until this season is complete. After that, he will reportedly occupy the position of the Giallorossi Board of Directors.
Meanwhile, Ranieri's return to the Olimpico is her third task. Previously, she had managed the Giallorossi in 2009-2011 and 2019 (interim).
Claudio Ranieri became AS Roma's fourth manager this year after they sacked Jose Mourinho, Daniele De Rossi, and most recently Ivan Juric, who had only served for about two months.
