COVID-19 Update As Of April 9: 5,265 New Cases, 110,138 Active Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 72,712 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,263 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,557,145 people and active cases dropped to 110,138 cases," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Friday, April 9.
Cases recovered today increased by 6,277 cases, bringing the total to 1,405,659 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 121 people and a total of 42,348 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,013 cases and a total of 390,590 cases. Followed by West Java which has 931 new cases with a total of 256,834 cases. Central Java has 569 new cases and a total of 173,235 cases. Then, East Java has 308 new cases and a total of 142,028 cases.
The province with the most cured cases today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 2,782 cured cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 452 cases recovered, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 402 cases recovered, and East Java with an increase of 249 cases recovered.
Two provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were North Sulawesi and North Maluku.
In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 13,259,775.
"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 17.83 percent," he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspek cases, it is recorded at 59,453 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Currently, there are 9,784,278 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 4,943,231 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phase 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
