Former UGM Chancellor And Chairman Of The Press Council Prof. Ichlasul Amal Dies
JAKARTA - Former Chancellor of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) who is also former Chairman of the Press Council Prof. Ichlasul Amal passed away on Thursday, November 14 morning WIB.

Ichlasul Amal is the Chancellor of UGM for the 1998 to 2002 period. He served as chairman of the press council from 2003 to 2010. He was born in Jember, East Java, on August 1, 1942.
The deceased, who is also a Professor of Political Science at UGM, is known as a clear political observer without having personal interests. After not serving as Chancellor, he also remains a political observer.
Ichlasul Amal gained political knowledge majoring in International Relations at UGM, and continued his studies on political science at Northern Illinois University, United States and won an MA title.

Ichlasul Amal left Ery Hariati's wife and two children, Amelin Herani and Akmal Herawan.
