South Kalimantan Police Arrest Aceh Network Drug Trafficry Controller
BANJARMASIN- The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police (Ditresnarkoba Polda Kalsel) arrested a man with the initials AM who acted as the controller of the Aceh network drug trafficking with the Banjarmasin marketing area.
"The suspect AM was arrested in the Riau Islands (Kepri) on Thursday (31/10) after members carried out developments in the Sumatra region," said the Director of Drug Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Kelana Jaya, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 14.
AM was hunted by the Opsnal Sub-Directorate II team led by the Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police AKBP Zaenal Arifien after several dealers who were arrested named him.
One of the dealers who became his accomplice was AR (37), a resident from Bireuen Regency, Aceh who was arrested on February 25, 2024, with a package of almost one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.
AR was arrested shortly after leaving Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru. He took crystal methamphetamine from Batam to Banjarmasin transit Jakarta flight on AM's orders.
Based on a long search using the scientific cyber analysis investigation method through the Leveled Application developed by the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police, the police finally managed to track AM's whereabouts in the Riau Islands.
Kelana said that AM often supplies drugs to South Kalimantan from cross-Sumatra networks from Aceh and Medan.
Now AM has been detained and investigators are suspected of violating Article 114 (2) sub-article 112 (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
