Dozens Of British Parliament Members File Gaza Family Visa Scheme
JAKARTA - A total of 24 British lawmakers have called on their government to launch the Gaza Family Visa Scheme, which allows Palestinians to unite with their family members and gain temporary shelter.
In the initial motion proposed by members of the Labor and Cooperative Party Parliament, ctional Maskell, asked the government to introduce the Gaza Family Visa Scheme based on the Ukrainian Family Scheme, which was launched in March 2022 after the Russian war began.
As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, November 13, this scheme allows people living in the UK to sponsor Ukrainian citizens or certain families to come and live in the UK with them, provided they have suitable accommodation to offer.
Maskel said he had submitted the initial motion to the House of Commons (low parliamentary assembly) on Tuesday and asked the British people to urge their lawmakers to sign it.
On Wednesday morning, the motion was signed by 24 lawmakers from the Labor Party, Social Democrats and Labor, Liberal Democrats, the Greens, the Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru, and the Alliance Party, as well as four independent lawmakers.
