KPK Asked To Immediately Issue New Sprindik To Snare Uncle Birin After Losing In Pretrial

JAKARTA - Indonesia Calling (IM) 57+ Institute asks the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to immediately issue a new investigation warrant (sprindik) to ensnare South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin.

This pressure was conveyed by the Chairman of the IM 57+ Institute, Praswad Nugraha in response to the death of the suspect, Uncle Birin, for winning the pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). He said, this issuance must be carried out to prove commitment in efforts to eradicate corruption.

"KPK must issue another sprindik as a commitment to eradicating corruption and convincing the public that law enforcement is not a political tool," Praswad told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, November 13.

Praswad also said that the anti-corruption commission could also issue a sprindik related to Article 21 of the Anti-Corruption Law. "Because there are allegations that the parties are obstructing the investigation of this case," he said.

This allegation, continued Praswad, could be seen because of a number of series of events that made the public suspect that there were spectators. One of them, when Uncle Birin disappeared after being named a suspect, suddenly he reappeared to lead an apple in his office.

"There needs to be a comprehensive deepening of the process. Given that it is substantially full of irregularities in the process," explained the former investigator.

As previously reported, the South Jakarta District Court (PN) received a pretrial lawsuit from the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin on Tuesday, November 12. His status as a suspect in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was declared dead.

Uncle Birin was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with four other people.

They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Ahmad Solhan (SOL), the Head of Cipta Karya as well as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Yulianti Erlynah (YUL), the Management of the Tahfidz Darussalam House as well as the collector of money or fee Ahmad (AMD) and Plt. Head of the Household Section of the Governor of South Kalimantan Agustya Febry Andrean (FEB).

Meanwhile, as the suspect givers, namely Sugeng Wahyudi (YUD) and Andi Susanto (AND) as private parties. A total of seven suspects were named by the KPK which began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Sunday, October 6.

This gift was made after Sugeng and Andi got three projects in South Kalimantan. The details:

1. Construction of Football Fields in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider PT WKM (Wismani Kharya Mandiri) with a work value of IDR 23 billion;

2. Integrated Samsat Development with selected provider PT HIU (Haryadi Indo Utama) with a work value of IDR 22 billion;

3. Development of Swimming Pools in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with the selected provider CV BBB (Bunt Banua Bersama) with a work value of IDR 9 billion.
