The Dangers of Illegal Loans, Easycash and AFTECH Urge Users to Protect Personal Data Security
JAKARTA - In an effort to increase financial literacy and digital awareness of the public regarding the dangers of illegal online loans (illegal pinjol), PT Indonesia Fintopia Technology (Easycash) and the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) participated in the 2024 Indonesia Fintech Summit & Expo (IFSE).
In the period of February-March 2024, OJK through the Illegal Financial Activities Eradication Task Force (Satgas PASTI), managed to identify 537 illegal pinjol platforms, far above the number of legal P2P lending platforms of 97 entities.
According to Head of Corporate Affairs of Easycash, Wildan Kesuma, illegal online loans (illegal pinjol) present various risks for users, one of which is the risk to the security of personal data.
According to him, there are many cases of the spread of sensitive data such as ID cards and other personal information that are misused and can be spread on social media, and can harm and embarrass users.
"Because now photos using ID cards suddenly go viral on Twitter, on Instagram, you must also feel embarrassed. And then, the data is contaminated everywhere, and can be exploited by irresponsible individuals," said Wildan in a talk show session at IFSE 2024 on Tuesday, November 12.

Therefore, Wildan appealed to all online loan users to maintain data security and use the services peer-to-peer (P2P) landing that has been registered and supervised by OJK.
"So that's what everyone has to guard. Well, for that, we as consumers also have to know that there is, when fintech lending is really supervised by OJK, there is a regulatory basis," continued Director of Marketing, Communication & Community Development AFTECH, Abynprima Rizki.
