Regarding Building Your Own Factory In Indonesia, Chery: We're Still Studying
PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) currently has assembly facilities, but is still working with PT Handal Indonesia Motor.
This Chinese brand is widely reported to be building its own assembly plant in Indonesia. So how is the update about the factory? Given that several brands have the same plans.
Responding to this, Sales Director of PT CSI Budiman Darmawan said that currently Chery is studying in that direction (the construction of its own factory), considering that Handal's capacity is indeed limited.
"Of course at this time, if we look at the demand and Handal capacity itself, it feels like we are already very fast to build a factory, because Handal capacity is also limited, so we have studied that direction," he said, when met in the Depok area, West Java, Tuesday, November 12.

When asked when it was time to do the groundbreaking, he only said to wait, and Chery would provide information about it.
But he made sure, Chery when Chery built the factory didn't just build a car. Not without reason, because Chery talks about investment in Indonesia in the medium to long term.
"Chery not only made a car factory, but we have prepared all infrastructure related to the car, including the supply chain," he added.
As previously reported by VOI, PT Chery Sales Indonesia's Head of Marketing Mohammad Ilham Pratama, revealed that it could not be discussed when the factory would begin construction.
"When can't mention it, but we still have a plan, and now it's still the same Handal," he said some time ago.
