Leading Lewotobi Eruption Handling Meeting, Gibran Wants Affected Residents To Feel The Government's Presence
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka chaired a coordination meeting for the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki at the Office of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta, Tuesday, November 12.
The vice president said the meeting focused on quick steps to ensure that the affected people could feel the government's presence in an emergency.
"We want the government to be present at an emergency like this," said Vice President Gibran through the Press, Media and Information Bureau (BPMI) of the Vice Presidential Secretariat (Setwapres) in Jakarta, confiscated by Antara.
In his directive, the Vice President emphasized the importance of careful planning, both in the short, medium and long term.
These plans include ensuring logistical stocks, health problems arising from eruptions, special handling for toddlers, pregnant and lactating women, the elderly, and anticipating the potential for lava flooding.
On that occasion, the Vice President also emphasized the importance of similarity of data between stakeholders so that disaster management can be right on target.
The meeting continued with the explanation of the ministers, the Head of BNPB and related ranks regarding the ongoing efforts and will be carried out in the future.

The vice president asked that all maximum efforts be deployed for the safety of residents and periodic results from these activities be reported to President Prabowo Subianto.
"Furthermore, we will report the results of the meeting to Pak Prabowo," he said.
With full support from the government, TNI, Polri, and all relevant ministries, the Vice President hopes that all these handling steps can be carried out effectively and the affected community can return to their activities as usual.
Present at this meeting included Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Home Affairs M. Tito Karnavian, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, Head of BNPB Suharyanto, and Head of the Geological Agency M. Wafid.
