Amorim Arrives, Nistelrooy Leaves Manchester United

JAKARTA - Manchester United have announced that interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club following the arrival of permanent manager Ruben Amorim on Monday, November 11, 2024, local time.

The 48-year-old coach initially wanted to stay and become part of Amorim's staff. However, with the arrival of Amorim who also brought his carriage, Nistelrooy left.

Van Nistelrooy has led Manchester United unbeaten in four matches after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, winning three times and drawing one.

The Red Devils scored 11 goals during his short tenure. The former Dutch national team player and Manchester United legend left along with Ten Hag's other dressing room staff who were previously there.

"Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club."

"Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken over the team for the last four matches as interim head coach."

Van Nistelrooy was a fan favourite during his time at Old Trafford, scoring 150 goals in 219 appearances over a five-year spell.

He was previously the head coach at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and stepped down on the final day of the 2022-23 season amid concerns that the club's hierarchy were not backing him.

Nistelrooy was brought in by Erik ten Hag to become his assistant in July 2024 on an initial two-year contract.
