Efforts To Optimize Withdrawal And Distribution Of Royalties, Kemenkumham Prepare Song Data Center
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) ri will create a data center for songs and/or music, in an effort to optimize the withdrawal and distribution of royalties stipulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 56 of 2021 related to the Management of Royalties copyright songs and / or music.
Director General of Intellectual Property (Dirjen KI) Kemenkumham Freddy Harris said that previously the government through his ministry planned to create a data center titled Song and Music Information System (SILM) in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plan had to be postponed.
"We want to build a comprehensive data center, but because of COVID, it will not be built in 2020. The plan, the data center is built in 2020, so that later in 2021 the song data system until the royalty system exists," freddy said in an online press conference held on Friday reported by Antara.
Furthermore, Freddy explained that this Song And/Or Music Data Center will come from e-Copyright managed by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) Kemenkumham.
The data center can be accessed by the National Collective Management Agency (LMKN), Creators, Copyright Holders, Related Rights Owners, and Commercial Users.
Lmkn will then manage royalties based on data that has been integrated between DJKI's music and/or song data centers with the Song/Music Information System (SILM) managed by LMKN.
"That is, this data center to present data about who the creator, the singer who, the record producer who," freddy said.
He also added that this data center can also be utilized by commercial song/music users to know the truth of the copyright ownership of the song and/or music it uses.
Meanwhile, earlier on March 30, 2021 The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo signed Government Regulation (PP) Number 56 of 2021 related to the Management of Royalties copyright Songs and / or Music.
This PP is present to optimize the function of managing copyright royalties on the utilization of creation and related rights products in the field of songs and / or music, and strengthen the Management of Royalties Copyright Songs and / Or Music about the form of use of public services are commercial in the form of analog and digital.
