Hit-and-run Attack Perpetrator In Zhuhai China Arrested, 20 People Lying On The Street

JAKARTA - Police in the city of Zhuhai, southern China, arrested a 62-year-old man, the perpetrator of a hit-and-run attack in a sports center that resulted in many casualties.

The video after the attack on Monday, November 11 evening, which was verified by Reuters, shows 20 people lying on the street. A terrorist' scream was heard as an ambulance arrived to take the injured to the hospital.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, November 12, police detained a man surnamed Fan for allegedly driving a small car towards pedestrians outside the sports center. The motive for the attack hit this pedestrian.

Violence crimes are rare in China due to strict security and strict gun laws. However, the growing reports of knife attacks in major cities have attracted public attention to safety in public spaces.

In October, a stabbing attack in Beijing left five people injured outside one of the city's leading primary schools. A month earlier, a Japanese student was stabbed to death outside his school in Shenzhen.

Zhuhai hosted China's biggest annual air show this week in which new stealth fighter jets will be on display for the first time.
