Ray Fisher's Outspoken Case Of Violence And Harassment Covered By WarnerMedia

JAKARTA - Actor Ray Fisher has voiced his disappointment at the way warner bros. production house and Warner Media company responded to the abusive actions of Justice League director Joss Whedon.

Nearly a year passed, the public could only hear Fisher's statements and stories through her Twitter account. Although the investigation was declared complete by the end of 2020, problems began to arise when Fisher mentioned a party that tried to cover up the case and did not conduct an in-depth investigation.

WarnerMedia ended the investigation by stating that remedial action had been taken as a result. Unfortunately they never disclosed the results of the investigation.

Other Stars

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Cyborg actor said he didn't want to name anyone who shared stories of Joss Whedon's acts of violence and racism. In the middle of the investigation process, he was suspicious because it seemed that the company wanted to protect the board of directors.

Fisher also mentioned that Joss Whedon has many conflicts with several Justice League stars, namely actors Jeremy Irons and Gal Gadot.

A source said Gal Gadot didn't want her character in Justice League to look more aggressive than the Wonder Woman movie. Once upon a time, Whedon wanted Gadot to say a sentence that wasn't in the script. Gal Gadot refused. Whedon then threatened to destroy the careers of Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.

Another source said gal Gadot contacted WarnerMedia and had a meeting with the then director, Kevin Tsujihara. Hearing the story go public, Gal Gadot said, "I have a conflict with (Whedon) and Warner Bros. is coping with attitude."

Investigation

On the day Ray Fisher wrote about Joss Whedon's actions, Warner announced that Fisher's fellow Justice League co-star Jason Momoa would voice Frosty the Snowman.

Supporting his friend, Jason Momoa wrote on Instagram, "I think fuck the guy who released frosty's fake announcement without my permission to disengage Ray Fisher who talked about how they were treated while filming Justice League."

"Serious things happen. It needs to be investigated and everyone needs to be questioned."

Furthermore, Fisher spoke with DC Films President Walter Hamada about the discrimination he received from the director. At the time, Hamada responded to a plan not to recruit Whedon for warnermedia.

Moments later, HR contacted Fisher to speak with the board. This meeting he used Fisher to name some witnesses who could be contacted. But Fisher realized that usually the HR sided with the employee in the appeal of the complainant.

In addition, several witnesses mentioned said no WarnerMedia officials tried to contact them.

It was then in September, Fisher tweeted on Twitter that Hamada was 'dumping' Joss Whedon but protecting their directors. DC Films responded and said Hamada had not thrown anything away and did not judge Justice League's production issues given that he had no involvement.

Cameo

Initially, Ray Fisher was re-cast as Cyborg for the new film The Flash. Conversations with director Andy Muschietti also led to positives but Fisher was disappointed when Warner referred to the filming as a cameo rather than as a cast.

Plus there's a report that says he's asking for double honors. As a result, the production house removed Fisher from the cast list and Fisher refused to play in the film under Walter Hamada.

This was done because Fisher believed Hamada covered up the issue of discrimination by producers Geoff Johns, Jon Berg, and Joss Whedon.

Closing her interview, Fisher said not everyone deserves to lead. But learning from this case, he doesn't want anyone fired from the Hollywood industry. "If I can't get accountability, at least I can make people aware of who they're dealing with."
