Chelsea Reduces Concerns About Cole Palmer And Noni Madueke

JAKARTA - Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca fielded Cole Palmer in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal in Week 11 of the 2024/2025 Premier League at Stamford Bridge, Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Palmer was injured against Manchester United last week after being hit hard by Leandro Martinez.

After the match against the Gunners, Palmer's injury looks recurred. Despite playing full time, he left the pitch limp.

This raises concerns, especially for the England national team. You see, Palmer is included in the Three Lions squad for two UEFA Nations League matches on November 15 and 18, 2024.

"I don't think we are taking any risks. He is doubtful, but his performance is very good. He is in pain now, but that is not something important," said Enzo Maresca.

In addition to reducing the issue of Palmer's injury, Maresca also straightened out her conflict with another England national team player, Noni Madueke, in the match against Arsenal.

Madueke looked angry after being replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk in the 68th minute.

"The problem is when you change players, they're never happy. Maybe the only way to be happy is after (scoring) three goals."

"However, it's not just about Noni, it's about the players because they want to be there until the end."

"At that time (in the match) we saw a different way. We thought Pedro (Neto) could be more aggressive (by replacing Madueke) to fight (Jurrien) Timber. So, it was a tactical decision," said Maresca.

So, the conflict is common. Maresca emphasized that the relationship is fine and will subside soon.

Meanwhile, both Palmer and Madueke are included in the England squad who will visit Greek headquarters and host the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.
