Ruben Amorim Has Been Asked For Recommendations On The Composition Of The Manchester United Squad

Ruben Amorim was immediately asked to compile the composition of the Manchester United squad considering that the winter market will open in January 2025.

The Red Devils officials assigned Amoram to create a list of who the players were released and maintained.

According to ESPN sources, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen are among players whose contracts expire at the end of this season.

Then, Harry Maguire and Amad Diallo also have contracts until the end of this season. Specifically for the two players, Manchester United has the option to extend an additional year until 2026.

Amorim's opinion will be taken into consideration for CEO Omar Berrada, Director of Sports and Ashworth, and Technical Director Jason Rights to make concrete decisions regarding player contracts.

Maguire struggled to find a regular place under Ten Hag's tutelage. However, the 31-year-old, who joined West Ham in 2023, has experience playing in a three-back formation.

He had a successful time in a three-back formation under former England national team manager Gareth Southgate.

This means that Maguire's chance is maintained because the Portuguese coach is very attached to the 3-4-3 system, which is his favorite in Sporting CP's success since 2020.

Meanwhile, Manchester United were also willing to listen to the offer for Lindelof last summer. However, injury during pre-season ended hopes of moving.

The Swedish national team player has returned to fitness. He had previously known Amoram while together at Benfica.

Lindelof will be free to negotiate with other clubs starting January 2025 and has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce to reunite with former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Ruben Amorim should have officially started working on November 11, 2024. However, he was constrained by Visa so he came to Old Trafford late.

He will make his debut to lead Manchester United against Ipswich Town on November 24, 2024 after the international break.
