The National Police Chief Holds A Great Praja Operation In The Regionals Prone To The Pilkada Followed By 2 Paslon
JAKARTA - National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo submitted a report regarding the security of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections.
According to General Sigit, the National Police has held a Great Operation Praja to anticipate the vulnerability of Pilkada in areas followed by two pairs of candidates.
"Currently, we will also face the security of the Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in 2024, where this is the first regional election in Indonesia's history to be held simultaneously, and this certainly has a tremendous impact on the stability of Kamtibmas," said Sigit during a working meeting at Commission III of the DPR, Monday, November 11.
"Of course we have to maintain the International trust that has been obtained so far. Of course, we hope that the simultaneous regional elections in 2024 can really run smoothly peacefully and coolly by involving all parties," he continued.
The National Police Chief reported that there were 37 provinces, 93 cities, 415 districts and 203 million permanent voters who would participate in the 2024 Pilkada. And followed by 1,557 candidate pairs.
"If I'm not mistaken, it consists of candidate pairs at the provincial level of 103, 285 at the city level and 1,169 at the district level. Then we follow that there are approximately 37 regions that are faced with empty boxes and if there is an empty box that wins, of course there will be a re- Pilkada, yes, it must be carried out in the next 1 year, this will certainly be our concern," said Sigit.
Sigit also highlighted the vulnerability of the Pilkada followed by two pairs of candidates. The National Police has determined a vulnerable area and has prepared by holding a steady praja operation.
"We are adding attention to the 202 areas that are followed by two candidate pairs so that it is our concern in determining security patterns, including determining which areas are very vulnerable and vulnerable areas, which are of course the attention of colleagues from the Kapolda who immediately carry out regular preja operations," said Sigit.

In a steady pre-operation operation, the National Police prepared 1,433,441 security personnel. Consisting of the NATIONAL POLICE 286,421 personnel, the TNI 91,410 linmas personnel 1,055,610 personnel.
Sigit said that his party also divided the security patterns into several categories, namely less vulnerable TPS, vulnerable TPS and very vulnerable TPS. Currently, he said, there are 435,296 polling stations that have been secured.
"Currently, we are also continuing to follow the series of stages of the Pilkada to help carry out security, especially currently related to logistics distribution," said Sigit.
"Currently, on November 1-26, the distribution has led to areas where the vote is held and we must carry out escorts and of course this requires strict security from members, so we have to make sure that the logistics distribution is right on target and then there are no problems with existing distribution problems," he concluded.
