Indonesia Sends 18 Athletes To IFSC Asian Youth Championship 2024
JAKARTA The Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) sent 18 athletes to appear in the prestigious IFSC Asian Youth Championship 2024.
The championship is scheduled to take place in Jamshedpur, India, on November 14-17, 2024. There are three events contested in this event, namely lead, boulder, and speed.
"This participation is an effort by the FPTI to continue to increase the flight hours and hone the skills of our junior athletes," said the Head of the FPTI Achievement Development and Development Division, M. Rizali Umarella.
The championship was organized by the Asia International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), the Indian Mounteenaring Foundation, and the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF).
The Indonesian athletes will depart for India on Monday, November 11, 2024, at noon WIB, through Soekarno-Hatta Airport. They were released by the General Secretary of the FPTI, Pristiawan Buntoro.

The athletes who departed have gone through a number of rigorous selection stages. They consist of 11 male athletes and seven female athletes.
Rizali added that the experience of competing at the Asian level is very important to build a strong mentality for each athlete and at the same time make them more mature in facing competitions.
"We have a target to maintain and even increase medal medals at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Therefore, we continue to prepare young athletes," said Rizali.
