Water To Tea Ginger, 8 Drinks Help Defecation More Smoothly
JAKARTA - Uncomfortability due to constipation can make a person feel lethargic, powerless, and bloating, which of course disrupts daily activities.
Fortunately, there are several drinks that can help improve digestion and facilitate bowel movements (BAB) naturally.
The following are recommendations for drinks that can be consumed during rice defecation, as quoted from Antara.
dietist Melanie Marcus, MA, RD, explained that keeping the body hydrated is the first step to relieve acute or chronic constipation. When the body lacks fluids, food that is not digested can be trapped in the intestines. Drinking enough water helps ensure food can move through the digestive tract.
Marcus recommends an intake of about 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. Mineral water also contains magnesium and sulfate, which can provide a natural evaporation effect.
Nutritionist Caroline Thomason, RD, CDCES, said that lemon water contains citric acid, a type of vitamin C that can act as a natural evaporator for some people. This sitrate acid can help draw water into the digestive tract, which stimulates movement of the intestines.
Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, dietist and author of The First Time Mom's Pregnancy Cookbook and Fueling Male Fertility, recommends Chia phresca, which is a mixture of chia seeds, water, and a little lemon juice or lime juice. Chia seeds contain insoluble fibers that help soften your courage, functioning similarly to natural evaporation.
Manaker explained that coffee is not only known for its caffeine content, but also because of its ability to stimulate digestion, it helps the defecation process. In fact, caffeineless coffee can trigger a gastrocolic reflex, which is a reflex that encourages contraction in the large intestines, as said by dietist Kim Kulp, RDN.
dietist Ashley Kitchens, MPH, RDN, says fruit juices such as porous, apple, and apricot can help overcome constipation. Apple Jus, for example, has a high comparison of fructosa, glucose, and sorbitol, which helps relieve constipation naturally.

Jus Prune naturally contains sorbitol, a natural laxer that helps smooth defecation. Manaker said that prune juice has proven to support digestive health, especially for those experiencing chronic constipation. A study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology found that prune consumption can improve the texture of pain without increasing the risk of diarrhea.
Aloe vera is rich in antioxidants and is believed to help accelerate the movement of the intestines, thus helping smooth the defecation. However, Caroline Thomason noted that the FDA has not officially recognized the crocodile's tongue as a safe or effective scatterer.
Black tea and green tea are rich in bioactive compounds such as caffeine and flavonoids, which provide mild evaporation effects and stimulate the digestive system. Adding fresh ginger into tea can increase this effect, because ginger has natural properties that support digestion and accelerate gut movement.
These various drinks can be a natural solution to help smooth defecation, especially if consumed regularly as part of a balanced diet.
