Prosecutor Demands Free Honorary Teacher Supriyani

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Konawe District Attorney (Kejari), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) charged the defendant Supriyani, a teacher at SD Negeri 4 Baito with a free charge.

The reading of the charges took place at the Andoolo District Court (PN) at a follow-up hearing with an agenda for reading the charges, at PN Andoolo, Konsel, Monday, November 11.

Public Prosecutor Ujang Sutisna conveyed that according to the facts of the trial the defendant committed violence against a child who was carried out once spontaneously, it could not be proven that Supriyani had an evil nature.

"Therefore, the defendant Supriyani cannot be subject to criminal charges. The element of criminal liability is not proven to be the second indictment, it cannot be proven again," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

The prosecutor said that in this case the defendant Supriyani's actions in hitting the victim's child witness were not a criminal act.

The prosecutor reasoned that the defendant Supriyani was released from all legal charges because during the trial the defendant was polite, the defendant had taught as an honorary from 2009 until now, having two small children and the defendant had never been convicted.

"Based on this description by taking into account the provisions of Article 80 paragraph 1 junto Article 76 letter C of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection, we from the Prosecutor demanded that the defendant Supriyani be released from all lawsuits," he said.

Kedua membebaskan terdakwa Supriyani dari dakwaan ke satu, biaya perkara sebesar Rp5,000 dibantah kepada negara.

After hearing the demands of the District Court Judge Andoolo gave the defendant's legal balance to defend in a follow-up hearing on Thursday.
