Meet The Deputy Minister Of Finance, Maruarar Proposes A Cheap Home Scheme For Small People

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait or Ara in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) discussed the abolition of the imposition of Value Added Tax (VAT) and Income Tax (PPh).

This was conveyed by Ara when meeting with the Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara, Friday, November 8. Ara explained that the proposal was made to reduce the price of houses for the small people.

"What is also important is the tax incentive for the construction of houses for the people with the support of the elimination of PPH and VAT," Ara said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, November 9.

Ara also asked for support from the Deputy Minister of Finance to be able to provide easy licensing and taxes from the local government, which previously, Ara said that his party had reached an agreement with the 2nd level regional government to remove BPHTB.

He also ensured that the government was committed to accelerating the issuance of the Building Agreement (PBG) to only 10 days, simplifying the requirements and certainty of the issuance of permits.

In terms of financing, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) admits that it is ready to synergize with the Ministry of PKP to facilitate the approval of mortgages for the community.

In order to make this happen, Ara also submitted a proposal to reduce the cost of public installments by extending the tenor to 30 years. "One of them is with a discourse on extending the tenor for up to 30 years," said Ara.

Responding to this, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara also welcomed the various proposals submitted. He emphasized that his party would coordinate with relevant ministries and institutions to be able to provide a legal umbrella for the proposal submitted.

"It's just a matter of how to provide various legal umbrellas to implement all existing ideas," he concluded.
