President Prabowo Disbands Job Creation Law Task Force for Efficiency

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has disbanded the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law based on considerations of the efficiency of the implementation of government affairs.

The decision was announced by President Prabowo by issuing Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 32 of 2024 concerning the Dissolution of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law which was uploaded from the Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) of the Ministry of State Secretariat in Jakarta, Saturday, November 9.

"That in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of government affairs, it is necessary to disband the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation," said an excerpt from point c of the considerations of the Presidential Decree as reported by ANTARA.

The Presidential Decree, which was signed by the Head of State in Jakarta on November 8, 2024, also contains the President's considerations that the Job Creation Law has been implemented effectively in order to encourage economic growth and expand employment opportunities.

The decision to disband the task force is stated in Article 1 of the stipulation point which states that the President revokes the changes stated in Presidential Decree Number 16 of 2022 which regulates changes to Presidential Decree Number 10 of 2021 concerning the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law.

"Presidential Decree Number 10 of 2021 concerning the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, is revoked and declared invalid," reads an excerpt from Article 2 of the Presidential Decree.

The Job Creation Law or Omnibus Law was enacted in 2020 and came into effect on November 2, 2020. This law aims to resolve overlapping regulatory issues.

The Job Creation Law Task Force is led by a chairman who is held by Mahendra Siregar. Then there are three deputy chairmen, namely Suahasil Nazara, M Chatib Basri, Raden Pardede, and secretary Arif Budimanta.

The Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law is tasked with synergizing activities, strategies, and substances of the socialization of the Job Creation Law carried out by regional governments and authorized ministries. This task force is responsible to the President.
