Joint Commitment Of PGN And BPH Migas Masifkan Pembangunan Jargas Nasional
PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding is committed to being more massive in developing household jargas. In line with the government's efforts to provide tube gas substitution, namely by using jargas. The government also has the same hope as PGN so that gas can further reach various regions, along with the development of transmission infrastructure and distribution of natural gas.
Iwan Prasetya Adhi as a member of the BPH Migas Committee said that currently the transmission pipeline from Semarang to Batang has been built. The pipe flows gas from various sources such as JTB and East Java (East Java). The government hopes that the pipeline can connect from Aceh to East Java. So that later excess gas in Aceh or East Java can be channeled to places where LPG is scarcity.
"The Minister (ESDM) has also launched, please maximize the island of Java for gas networks to households, so that they can reduce the use of LPG, which is mostly still imported. If we can use jargas for households, then people can enjoy natural gas as enjoying PDAM water," said Iwan at the BPH Migas Goes to Campus workshop at Semarang State University (UNNES), Thursday 7 November.
The activity of BPH Migas Goes to Campus is also a place for PGN education to UNNES students regarding PGN's role in utilizing national natural gas.
Harry Budi Sidharta as Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN expressed the role of PGN which is quite crucial in the development of jargas. PGN also ensures that in every stage of gas network development, PGN always coordinates with the government. Most of the LPG is still imported, this is the government's concern that the burden is getting higher, resulting in a fiscal deficit. With more and more gas, it will reduce LPG imports," said Harry.
Harry said that PGN targets to complete as many as 400,000 Home Connections (SR) by 2025. The gas line is a jargas program that has been built since 2021, using PGN's independent investment or commonly known as GasKita products.
Nationally, PGN has built and managed gas lines for households of approximately 820,000 SR. When juxtaposed with LPG, the volume is around 83,000 mton per year.

Harry said that PGN conducted a survey where around 56% of the people were still comfortable using LPG. Then it was 17% related to the price juxtaposed with subsidized LPG. This is a joint homework on how to direct people who use subsidized LPG to jargas," he said.
PGN's synergy with BPH Migas has been closely established so far in the development of natural gas utilization. Collaboration is also established to maintain the availability and accessibility of natural gas. PGN always coordinates with BPH Migas which is in the downstream sector, BPH Migas as the implementing regulator and PGN.
"PGN is always committed to developing a natural gas distribution business that we believe, natural gas will be a good alternative energy source for the community. Natural gas utilization is also expected to be more affordable and support the government towards Indonesia's gold 2045," concluded Harry. (ADV)
