True Love Is Sacred! Woman In Riau Remains Ijab Kabul Despite Husband-to-Be Drug Convict

JAKARTA - A woman in Selat Panjang, Riau with the initials ST (35) remains married to her lover, HS (40) who is a convicted drug case. HS currently resides in Mapolres Meranti Islands, Riau Province.

The process of ijab kabul is done in front of the head of kua Tebing Tinggi subdistrict. The bride's family also attended with a limited number and the application of strict health protocols.

Uniformed police officers also appeared to guard and escort the wedding ceremony until the end of the event safely and smoothly.

HS is a resident of Banglas, Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict. He and three friends were arrested by members of the Meranti Islands Police Drug Reserse Unit for bagging nine packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution with an overall weight of 1.03 grams.

The arrests occurred in mid-March, or about a week before hs and ST wedding dates.

Separately, Meranti Islands Police Chief AKBP Eko Wimpiyanto Hardjito said that his party facilitated marriage for the prisoners as a form of service.

"This is one form of service from Sat Tahti Meranti Islands Police to prisoners. We facilitate prisoners to hold weddings," eko said.

Now MS and ST are officially and legally husband and wife. But they have not been able to enjoy the honeymoon, because MS must be held accountable for her actions.
