Real Madrid Aims For An Agreement With Trent Alexander-Arnold On The January 2025 Exchange

JAKARTA - Real Madrid are considering recruiting players in the January 2025 transfer market.

Most recently, they showed interest in Liverpool's right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 26-year-old is Real Madrid's option to address defense issues.

However, a source told ESPN that there was an understanding at the club that agreeing to a deal with Liverpool in January 2025 would be difficult.

Therefore, Los Blancos are also exploring other alternatives if Alexander-Arnold fails to be brought in.

Strengthening the defense is considered Real Madrid's priority after successive defeats at the Santiago Bernabeu against Barcelona (0-4) and AC Milan (1-3).

Alexander-Arnold emerged as the main candidate following Dani Carvajal's injury last month which was predicted until the end of the season.

It's just that it's unclear whether Real Madrid will wait until summer to recruit the full-back or try to sign him straight in winter.

You see, Alexander-Arnold's contract at Anfield was completed at the end of this season. The right-back has no sign of renewing the contract.

If that continues, Alexander-Arnold could become a free agent in January 2025 and have the right to negotiate with any club.

Alexander-Arnold is considered the right solution when Lucas Vazquez struggled to play the role of right-backs in losing to Barcelona and Milan.

Carlo Ancelotti publicly stated that Real Madrid lacked players after Nacho Fernandez's departure in the summer and wanted to add more players in the squad.

David Alaba has been injured for almost a year. Pessimistic tones arise regarding the healing of the Austrian.

The 32-year-old's recovery has been repeatedly extended and his vulnerability problem continues.

With Jesus Vallejo out of Ancelotti's plan, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger were the only pairs of centre-backs available.

Aurelien Tchouameni, who is often fielded as a centre-back, has been sidelined for a month after spraining his ankle against Milan.
