In One Day, Komdigi Has Taken Action On 8,086 Online Gambling Content

JAKARTA - On Friday, November 8, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) through the Directorate of Information Application Control (PAI) reported that it had taken action against 8,086 content related to online gambling (judol).

The content provided includes 6,722 websites, 954 on the Meta platform, 279 file sharing, 77 on the Google/YouTube platform, and 54 on Twitter. The latest action was also taken against the @dewi6Prabu Revolution 9official account with 99,700 followers.

According to the Director General of Information and Public Communication at the Ministry of Komdigi, Prabu Revolution, this is in line with their commitment to eradicating online gambling indiscriminately.

Since the Red and White Cabinet started working from October 20 to November 8, 2024, Prabu revealed that the Ministry of Communication and Industry has cumulatively taken action against 249,503 gambling content.

"We would like to thank the public who actively reported negative content," Prabu said in his official statement.

Not to forget, Prabu also reminded the public about the dangers of individuals looking for people to be collectors of accounts or intermediaries to disguise online gambling transactions.

Because according to him, apart from facing legal risks, account owners can also be negatively affected by financial reputation, including blocking banking services or involvement in serious legal issues.

"If there is an offer to open an account with an unclear purpose or to 'invest' with a promise of quick profit, be careful and do a check," said Prabu.

The Ministry of Communication and Industry has provided various channels for the public to report negative content, including judol. Among them are Complaints.id, which also provides WhatsApp services at 0811-9224-545. There is also WA chatbot Stop Judi Online at 0811-1001-5080.

In addition, the Complaints portal number.id can be used to report misuse of mobile numbers for fraud, and Cekrekening.id to report bank or e-wallet accounts suspected of being involved in criminal acts.
