Yandi Supriyadi, Fugitive In Obscenity Case At The Pinang Orphanage Finally Arrested In Palembang

TANGERANG - The police finally arrested Yandi Supriyadi (28), a fugitive in a child molestation case that occurred in an orphaned dormitory in Pinang, Tangerang.

Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Zain Dwi Nugroho said Yandi was arrested in the Empat Lawang area, Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday, November 7, morning.

"The suspect was brought to Jakarta to account for his actions," said Zain when confirmed, Friday, November 8.

Perpetrators often move locations to escape from the police. Luckily, his whereabouts were detected when the suspect went to the market to buy daily necessities.

"So the suspect was secured in the market when he wanted to shop for his needs, because he wanted to shop. During his escape he hid in the plantation, we detected him and when he went down to the city to buy daily necessities we secured," he said.

During his escape, the suspect moved cities to make it difficult for the police to arrest the perpetrators.

The suspect had stopped by Padang, Palembang and finally in Empat Lawang. Indeed, he tried to disguise his identity, including our monitoring. He also had time to communicate with the parents of one of the victims, and was advised to surrender but did not want to," he said.

As is known, the police have named three suspects in connection with the alleged molestation of dozens of children at the Darussalam An-Nur Orphanage, Pinang, Tangerang City.

The three people are Sudirman (49) as the owner of the orphanage, Yusuf Bahtiar (30) and Yandi Supriyadi (28) as the caregiver. Meanwhile Yandi is included in the People's Wanted List (DPO).

So far, the police have obtained data on 18 children being treated at the Kunciran Orphanage, of which 2 are still toddlers. The police are still investigating the possibility of other victims from the suspects.
