Kemenhub: Reckless Homecoming, Vehicles Will Be Turned Back
JAKARTA - Director General of Land Transportation Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Budi Setiyadi confirmed, his party and police officials have prepared sanctions for citizens who remain reckless to make Eid al-Fitr homecoming this year.
As is known, SE Number 13 of 2021 regulates the Elimination of Eid al-Fitr Homecoming in 1442 Hijri and Efforts to Control the Spread of COVID-19 During the Holy Month of Ramadan 1442 Hijri. The letter was signed by the Chairman of the Task Force on Handling COVID-19 Doni Monardo on April 7, 2021 and valid from 6 to 17 May 2021.
Budi said that just like the provisions of homecoming travel in Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Fitr in 2020, the Police Korlantas will crack down by turning around vehicles that are recklessly homecoming by road.
"The sanctions that we will do with the Police Force as in years past, for people who use vehicles and do not meet those requirements will be reversed," he said, in a virtual press conference, Thursday, April 8.
Please note, vehicles that are prohibited to travel during the homecoming ban apply, namely public motor vehicles with the type of bus cars and passenger cars.
Second, individual motor vehicles with passenger cars, bus cars, and motorcycles, as well as river, lake, and crossing transport vessels.
Furthermore, Budi said, for travel vehicles or individual transportation used to transport passengers, police officers will take decisive action both in the form of refinement and other actions in accordance with the Traffic and Road Transport Law.
As is known, Korlantas Polri has prepared 333 sealing points on land routes spread throughout Lampung to Bali.
"Then concerning the issue of supervision will be done by the Police by making check points in some areas," he said.
In addition to the National Police, Budi said, it also involves strengthening the supervision of homecoming bans from elements of the TNI, Satpol PP from the district / city office, elements of the district / city transportation office and the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ).
