Mining Truck Activity For PIK 2 Development Temporarily Stopped

Operational activities of mining transportation or land trucks for the construction of the National Strategic Project (PSN) in the Pantai Indah Kosambi (PIK) 2 area, Tangerang Regency, Banten, were temporarily suspended by the regional government (Pemda) to avoid conflicts in the community.

"To maintain the situation, we will regulate operating hours by temporarily stopping the activities of the truck," said Tangerang Regent Official (Pj) Andi Ony Prihartono in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 8.

In addition to stopping activities, currently his party will take several steps to monitor by increasing the number of monitoring posts and building personnel in the field to prevent mining vehicles from violating operating hours again.

"Then we will also build a speed trap or speed barrier installed on the highway to regulate the speed of the vehicle. There will also be a barrier portal installed," he said.

In this case, he continued, the Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) will immediately conduct an evaluation regarding the regent's regulation (perbup) which regulates the implementation of the operating hours of mining vehicles in the area.

"So the perbup will be followed up as a regional regulation (perda), and by following up on the rules, the operating hours rule will be enforced," he said.

Andi added that in the near future his party together with cross-sectoral agencies will immediately coordinate to discuss the implementation of the rules or policies regarding the supervision of mining vehicles.

"We will coordinate across sectors, because this involves other areas related to the origin of the mining transportation," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police Brigadier General Pol Djati Wiyoto Century added that from the results of a joint agreement between residents, local governments, and the National Police, it would temporarily suspend the operational time of mining truck vehicles for the next three days, in order to keep the situation conducive during this time.

"At that time the situation was heating up. Our Deputy Chief of Police was the victim of anarchic throwings from residents at that time," he said.

He revealed that as a measure to anticipate things that are not desirable, his party together with the regional government will carry out large-scale operations to enforce the rules for operating hours of these mining vehicles.

"We agreed on the wishes of the residents, if the next three days are in mourning, there will be no trucks passing by as an empathy for the victims. The next step is to control the operating hours of the trucks passing here," he said.

It is known that hundreds of people intercepted and damaged the vehicle of the PSN mining truck construction at PIK 2 on Thursday (7/11). The action was carried out due to a traffic accident that happened to one of the children from a local resident.

So that dozens of mining trucks passing through the road became the target of the residents' anger. Car windows were destroyed, the tires were crushed, even one truck was burned to loot spare parts from the vehicle.
